Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken has admitted that it has taken him time to settle into life in England after his move from Freiburg this summer.
The 30-year-old was brought in by boss Thomas Frank to add to the goalkeeping department, with David Raya leaving to join Arsenal.
Flekken has so far played 10 times for the Bees in all competitions, with the Dutchman coming under fire in some Premier League games this season.
Former Freiburg man Flekken admitted that it took him longer than expected to settle into life in England, but that he’s slowly getting there.
Flekken on settling into life at Brentford
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, the 30-year-old opened up about life in England and how he settled at the club.
“It’s been five months or so now and it has all flown by if I’m honest.

“The team, the club and everyone in it have all be very welcoming which has certainly helped me settle in but it’s taken a lot to settle into a new country.
“Driving on the other side of the road is new to me with the steering wheel on the right hand side which is something completely different to me.
“The Premier League is by far the biggest competition on the planet so I’m grateful to be able to play in it for this great club.”
More to come from Flekken at Brentford
Flekken has been good so far for the Bees and long may it continue, for Brentford and internationally.
He’s been selected for the Netherlands once again during this international break, a reward for his good start to life at the GTEC Community Stadium.
Of course, it is still early days for the 30-year-old, but he has impressed at the club so far with plenty more still to come from the former Freiburg ‘keeper.
