Brentford are continuing to monitor striker Viktor Gyökeres despite his summer transfer to Sporting Lisbon in Portugal.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a brilliant spell at Coventry City in the Championship last season, scoring 21 times in 44 starts – putting Brentford on red alert.
However, despite interest from Thomas Frank’s side, the Swedish international joined Sporting for a deal in the region of £20 million.
Gyokeres has carried on his superb goalscoring form in Portugal, scoring 11 times in his 13 games for his new side.
Brentford still monitoring Gyokeres
According to 90Min, Brentford alongside West Ham United are the two Premier League sides that are still interested in signing the striker.

However, AC Milan are the side that continue to monitor the 25-year-old closest with the Italian giants planning a move for the Swede in 2024.
It’s highly unlikely that Gyokeres will leave Sporting this season, with the Portuguese side reluctant to let their top scorer leave anytime soon.
The former Coventry man signed a five-year deal with Sporting in the summer, with Ruben Amorim’s side under no pressure to sell their star man.
A potential Toney replacement?
With Ivan Toney returning to first-team action on January 17th, it’s highly unlikely the Bees will pursue a move for the Swede in January.
Many Premier League sides are interested in signing Toney in January, however, the £80 million price stage is said to be putting many teams off a move.
Should the England international depart in the summer, the club may target Gyokeres as a potential replacement for the Bees talisman.
