Brentford are widening their search for players by looking in South America for any young and upcoming prospects.
One player the club have identified is Piero Quispe with the 22-year-old on the Bees’ radar ahead of the January transfer window.
The attacking midfielder currently plays for Universitario in Peru’s top-flight but he could soon be on the move to the Premier League.
It’s now been claimed that several Premier League clubs – including Brentford – have sent scouts to the player’s current club to watch the talented youngster who’s being referred to as the next Nolberto Solano.
Brentford could sign Piero Quispe
According to Todo Sport, Brentford are in the race to sign Quispe, alongside fellow Premier League sides Brighton and Nottingham Forest who have also been scouting the player intensely.

The report, which is in Spanish, explains what type of player Quispe is. They say: “Quispe is called the wonder boy.
“Wonder kid, that’s what they call him and mention him as one of the most promising wonder boys. The good foot reminds us of Nolberto Solano.”
Quispe looks as though he could be an intriguing player for Thomas Frank’s side. Despite his tender years, he scored six goals and claimed two assists during the 2022/23 campaign.
Another talented Brentford youngster?
In recent seasons, Frank’s side have recruited numerous talented youngsters who were relatively unknown before joining the club.
Ollie Watkins, Said Benrahma and Neal Maupay were three players brought into the club for small fees, with all three players unknown to many.
The club managed to receive nearly £70 million for the trio, with the club still managing to win promotion to the Premier League.
Hopefully, Quispe can be the next hidden gem the club sign, with the Peruvian highly rated back in his homeland.
