Brentford have been told how much it will cost to sign Sunderland winger Jack Clarke during the January transfer window.
It is clear that Brentford are looking to sign some attacking reinforcements in January, with many names linked with Thomas Frank’s side.
The 22-year-old has been on top form so far this season for Tony Mowbray’s side, scoring nine times in the Championship so far this season.
However, Brentford aren’t the only side interested in the forward, with Crystal Palace, Burnley and Everton also keen on signing the former Tottenham youngster.
What has been said about Clarke’s future?
It has been suggested by Alan Nixon that the Black Cats are looking to tie their star man down to a new deal, even though he signed a new deal back in July last year.

Mowbray’s side are said to be holding out for a figure in the region of at least £20 million, after rejecting deals in the region of £15 million last summer.
Although it hasn’t been disclosed, Team Talk claim that Tottenham could have up to a 50% sell-on fee – meaning should Clarke be sold for the £20m that Sunderland are holding out for, Spurs will receive £10m from the deal.
22-year-old Clarke has been exceptional this campaign, scoring nine times in just 16 outings for the Black Cats this season, and also winning September’s Player of the Month award along the way.
Would Clarke be a good signing?
At around £20m, Clarke could prove to be an excellent piece of business. Given the list of names to come out of the Championship in recent years, this one is a no-brainer.
Understandably, the supporters may have some reservations given the recent signing of Keane Lewis-Potter, but Clarke has proven he can handle the step up to the Premier League.
Frank’s side face a real battle to sign the youngster in January, but if a deal can be agreed he will add serious quality to an already very talented Brentford forward line.
