Frank praises ‘very good’ debutants

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has praised debutants Mark Flekken and Nathan Collins for their performances.

Speaking after his side’s two all draw to Tottenham Hotspur, Frank was clearly happy with his side.

He picked out the debutants as they come up to speed with Brentford’s style.

What did Thomas Frank say about Mark Flekken?

Dutchman, Flekken, had come under some scrutiny in pre season for some bellow par performances.

Frank was happy with his performance against Spurs however saying: “Mark was very good, he had some decent saves and was very composed with his distribution.

“I thought he was dominant, aggressive in his box on crosses and set pieces and had a good aura. He’s a good goalkeeper. That’s why we bought him.”

Brentford have prepared well for life without David Raya by getting Flekken in early.

Frank is happy with his new man who will only get better in time.

What did Thomas Frank say about Nathan Collins?

“He’s still getting used to the principles we have but it was a good first appearance.”

Playing in a back three, the way Brentford do it, will be new to Collins. Coming from Wolves who played a 4-3-3 under Julen Lopetegui last season it may take time.

As the bees’ record signing, Collins is going to be utilised as much as possible this season.
