Giovani Lo Celso looks to be on the move from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and Brentford would be wise to explore a move for the player.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Aston Villa and Napoli are interested in signing Giovani Lo Celso, with Spurs thought to be open to a sale. Brentford should make themselves contenders for the playmaker’s signature.

Thomas Frank’s side were fantastic last season, but the Bees have lacked an element of creativity in central areas since the departure of Christian Eriksen. This is something the Danish coach may be looking to address this summer. If that is the case, then Lo Celso would be an ideal acquisition.

Why Lo Celso would be perfect for Brentford

Lo Celso is a technically gifted, creative player, who is able to find space between the lines and pull strings in order to create chances for his teammates. The likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney – when he returns from his ban – would thrive off of the Argentine’s service.

Things haven’t really worked out for the midfielder since his arrival at Tottenham in 2019. However, he has spent the last 18-months on loan at Villarreal and has rediscovered some great form in La Liga. The 27-year-old is now playing with plenty of confidence, in his prime, and ready to prove his worth in the Premier League.

Brentford should seriously consider rivalling Aston Villa, and trying to give Lo Celso the chance to finally really shine in the English top flight.
