Brentford are interested in Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike with the 21-year old striker linked to clubs across Europe.

The Parisians are said to ‘like the idea’ of the striker joining the Bees this summer.

Despite this, Thomas Frank’s side are more interested in other targets such as Nico Gonzalez and Brennan Johnson.

It appears Ekitike is being offered to lots of Premier League sides with Fulham, West Ham United and Everton also linked to him.

PSG are looking to balance their FFP and believe the French striker is a sellable asset.

Should Brentford sign Hugo Ekitike?

Despite it not going well for the striker in Paris, while at Reims, he scored 11 and assisted four, in 28 games.

At PSG he has scored four and assisted four despite a lack of minutes so it hasn’t been so bad.

At 21-years old and 6’2 he is a physical player and a good target man.

In saying this, he is great on the ball with it at his feet. Whether that be laying the ball of to his team mates or dribbling.

The thing that will be music to Thomas Frank’s ears is that Ekitike is that he isn’t afraid to get amongst it and defend.

Pressing from the front will suit the Brentford team and would be a unique option compared to what is already at the club.

The issue with a lot of links to strikers this summer, when Ivan Toney comes back, they will be playing second fiddle.

A loan for Ekitike to the GTEC Community Stadium could suit both parties.

If he performs well during his spell he could be worth a permanent signing, if Toney comes back and the Frenchman loses out, there is no risk of him being wasted.
