Brentford are interested in Marseille midfielder, Azzedine Ounahi, as Thomas Frank looks to improve his midfield options.
Ounahi reached the semi final of the 2022 World Cup with Morocco and gained high praise for his performances.
With the potential departure of midfielder, Mikkel Damsgaard, reinforcements in the middle of the park are necessary.
He became a Marseille player in January, signing from Angers for just £8 million.
Due to injury, the Morroccan has only made 12 appearances for OM, since signing.
Should Brentford sign Azzedine Ounahi?
A central midfielder by trade, he is more attack minded but likes to get involved defensively.
His dribbling is one of his key abilities, allowing him to glide around the pitch, searching for space to receive the ball and move forward.
When he does score, he likes to come in off the left hand side and shoot with his stronger right foot.
Although finishing isn’t strong point, he can carry a goal threat.

His dribbling is paired well with short, concise passes to create space and chances for teammates.
His defensive abilities isn’t great but in a team like Brentford, he could be well suited.
As a box to box midfielder, under Thomas Frank, his defensive contribution would only increase.
With Damsgaard’s future looking to be away from the GTEC Community Stadium, more midfield options might be needed.
The issue with this move comes with the potential cost.
Signing for OM, just seven months ago and on a deal until 2027, he could cost £15 million or more.
The questions over that fee for this player is with his injury record. 12 games in half a season isn’t ideal for anyone involved really.
He is a good player and clearly has quality, being a key player in a side in a World Cup semi final is no easy feat.
If a fee closer to £10 million can be agreed, this would be a top signing.
A deal closer to £20 would represent an over spend, but still a very useful player that does suit the Bees’ and Frank’s way of playing.
