Brentford are looking to sign Johan Bakayoko from PSV but will stern competition from Paris Saint Germain.

The Bees have been looking for attacking reinforcements this transfer window and Bakayoko is the latest name on that list.

Luis Enrique’s side have reportedly tabled a £25 million bid for the Belgian which is set to be rejected by the Dutch side.

The winger is under contract in Rotterdam until 2026 and as a result, his club can hold out for their demanded fee.

With the Bees’ move for Nico Gonzalez has dragged on all summer and with the window coming to an end, Bakayoko may be moved for.

Should Brentford sign Johan Bakayoko?

The Belgian, at 20-years old is already a classy operator.

His dribbling is what sets him apart from other wingers, ghosting past people like they aren’t even there.

Thomas Frank could get even more out of him, boosting his defensive contribution, which is already great.

At PSV, he loves to cut inside from the right and get shots off and crosses in.

He is also very adept at arriving at the back post and winning headers. An extra bow in his quiver.

This makes him a dangerous forward, with a varied arsenal of attack.

If a deal for Gonzalez can’t be completed it looks like the Bees will look elsewhere. The Belgian may be one of the best young wingers to invest in.

With PSG interested, it won’t be an easy deal to get over the line.

The chance of regular Premier League football may see him avert his gaze from Paris to West London.
