Fiorentina forward Nicolas Gonzalez has been targeted by Brentford, with a £25 million bid lodged.
First reported by The Athletic the winger would add firepower to the Bee’s frontline which may be lacking without Ivan Toney.
The Argentine international made 24 Serie A appearances last year scoring six and assisting one as Fiorentina finished eighth.
He also added nine goal involvements across 11 games in the Europa Conference League, as Viola made the final.

A winger who is comfortable operating as a striker, with his main weapon being cutting in an curling efforts goalward.
He started his career at Argentinos Juniors where he made his debut in 2016. In 44 appearances he scored 11 goals and earned a move to Europe.

With the options of Kevin Schade, Keane Lewis-potter and Yoane Wissa who also are flexible and able to operate in a similar way to Gonzalez, is he necessary?
Squad depth, especially in forward areas, can only be a good thing as Brentford attempt to move up the league and consolidate their mid-table place.
It is going to be a big season for forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Schade, as they deputise for Toney, the addition of Gonzalez could boost the squad’s goalscoring capabilities going into the new season.
