Brentford’s latest priority in the transfer window is to strengthen their attacking options, and they are now targeting KRC Genk star Mike Tresor.

Tresor was phenomenal in the Belgian league last season, racking up an astonishing eight goals and 24 assists across 42 games in all competitions, and the left-winger is now coveted by The Bees.

A report from Foot Mercato has claimed that Tresor is keen to play in the Premier League next season, and negotiations between Brentford and Genk are progressing well, indicating that a deal could happen soon.

Tresor could become the Bees’ fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Kevin Schade, Mark Flekken and Nathan Collins.

What could Tresor bring to Brentford?

The Belgium international, who has two caps to his name, could be an excellent addition to Brentford’s attack, and could help replace the output of Ivan Toney whilst he serves his ban until January.

The explosive winger typically operates on the left wing, bringing additional goal threat by cutting inside onto his right foot, and could suit Brentford’s counter-attacking style well.

It remains to be seen how he would cope with the step-up in quality to the Premier League, but he has shown that he can be decisive in the final third, and brings an extraordinary level of creativity to the side.

Whilst Toney is out, Schade could move to the centre, with Tresor on the left and Bryan Mbeumo on the right, in what could be a devastating attacking trio, and at just 24, Tresor fits in with Brentford’s philosophy over signings.

He could arrive as a young, talented but unproven attacker, and if he settles well in West London, his value could skyrocket almost instantly.

It is unlikely to be an expensive deal, but it could be yet another transfer masterstroke from Brentford as they enter their third season in the top flight.
