Mads Bidstrup has completed his move from Brentford to Red Bull Salzburg for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old joined the Bees from Red Bull Leipzig back in 2020 and made 14 appearances for the club over three years in West London.
Bidstrup was part of the Brentford squad that achieved promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history back in 2021.
Upon promotion, he frequently featured on the bench for Brentford in the Premier League up until January 2022.
However, during the same month, he secured a loan move away from the club to gain valuable first-team experience.
The former Denmark U21 international has spent the last 18 months playing for Danish side FC Nordsjælland, where featured 43 times, claiming the club’s Player of the Year award for 2022/23.

Brentford’s director of football full of praise for Bidstrup
Speaking to BrentfordTV, Phil Giles said, “Mads is one of the best professionals we have worked with over recent seasons.
“He did extremely well on loan over the last 18 months, and ideally we would’ve lied to work with him for longer.
“However, we all recognise that at this stage of his career, Mads needs to continue to start games every week.
“I know everyone here will be pleased for Mads and wish him the best of luck at his new club.”
What next for Midstrup?
It is clear the young Dane is a very talented player, as proven by his time on loan last season.
His move permanent move to RB Salzburg will allow him to further his development, whilst also featuring in a European competition next season.
The Austrian side have a track record of producing and developing young talent, and Mads Bidstrup could follow in the footsteps of players such as Dominik Szoboszlai and Naby Keita in making big-money moves to a top-five European league.
