Brentford goalkeeper David Raya looks to be edging closer to leaving the club after Nottingham Forest agreed a deal for Arsenal shot-stopper Matt Turner.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been interested in Raya for the last couple of weeks, with the Spaniard agreeing personal terms with the Gunners.
Now that current No 2 ‘keeper Turner is set to join Steve Cooper’s side, it opens the door for Raya to join Arteta’s side.
Arsenal’s first bid for the 27-year-old of £20 million plus £3 million in add-ons was rejected, but a new bid is set to be submitted.
The former Blackburn Rovers shot-stopper has made no secret of his desire to leave the GTEC Community Stadium this window, with a move now looking inevitable.

Where does this leave Brentford?
The Bees currently have new signing Mark Flekken, Thomas Strakosha, and third-choice Ellery Balcombe as their goalkeeping options.
Flekken signed from German side Freiburg for a fee of £13 million, with the Dutch shot-stopper expected to be the No 1 should Raya leave Thomas Frank’s side.
Albanian ‘keeper Strakosha is an experienced shot-stopper who provides great cover in the Premier League for any side.

As for Balcombe, he was on loan at League One side Bristol Rovers last season, the club where fellow ‘keeper Matthew Cox is currently spending the season.
The 23-year-old could yet leave the club on loan once more this window.
Should the deal for Raya go through in the coming days, Brentford may need to sign another ‘keeper, but the money from the Spaniard’s sale would allow for further investments throughout the squad.
