Brentford star, Bryan Mbeumo has received praise from Alan Shearer following an inclusion in his Team of the Week.
Following an excellent Brentford win over Chelsea this week, it is no surprise to have names in the Team of the Week.
Against the Blues, Thomas Frank’s side defended well and managed to shut out the home side.
It was a defender who opened the scoring in Ethan Pinnock. He powered a header past Robert Sanchez after latching on to a Bryan Mbeumo cross.
The aforementioned Mbeumo got his name on the scoresheet and the Chelsea keeper came up for a corner.

What has Alan Shearer said about Bryan Mbeumo?
After a top defensive performance, the Cameroonian on £45k-a-week, was the point of difference.
With himself and Pinnock included in Shearer’s weekly Premier League Team of the Week, it is a positive time for the Bees.
Discussing the winger, the former Newcastle man said: “A threat throughout. He set up Brentford’s first before sealing the win late on.”
With Ivan Toney missing, he has really been THE man for Brentford as they have learned to live without their talisman.
How did he play against Chelsea?
Ironically he had the least touches of any player on the pitch to have featured in the full 90 minutes. With that being said, he made each of those touches count.
He managed to collate 1.22 expected goals, a stat which has been juiced by his open goal for the second.
Although he may have been famed for his attacking exploits, he was superb defensively.
He won 100% of his tackles, made two recoveries, won 40% of his ground duels and 50% of his arieal duels.
Alongside the other ten men on the pitch in red and white, their defensive display was top-class.
More than deserving of a place in Shearer’s Team of the Week.
