David Raya is set to play against Brentford for the first time since leaving the club. The Bees have allowed him to play for Arsenal in the EFL Cup.
Raya joined the Gunners this summer on loan with a view to buy him next season, as he also signed a new deal.
The deal had rumbled on all window long and eventually a move was completed in the closing weeks of the window.
With Mark Flekken coming in, Thomas Frank’s side haven’t suffered from the loss of the Spaniard as much as many thought they would.
On the flipside, Raya is yet to play for his new side and cup competitions may give him that opportunity.
Ironically, the goalkeeper’s new and former sides drew each other in the EFL Cup with the question being whether or not he could play.

Can David Raya play against Brentford?
Typically, the Premier League wouldn’t allow loanee’s to play against their parent club in a game, but it appears this won’t be enforced.
This is because the Bees aren’t opposed to Raya featuring in the match.
When this move originally happened it seemed strange, but with a downturn in form for Aaron Ramsdale, the move looks clever.
By the end of the international break, and the turn of the third round of the cup, the Spaniard may have established himself as number one.
Raya has an option to buy in his deal, as a result Brentford see his future away from the club.
This appears to be the reason behind letting him play in the cup.
It is yet to be seen whether or not he will be allowed to play in the Premier League, but that is unlikely.
