Brentford striker, Neal Maupay has admitted that he was overwhelmed after scoring his first goal in months against West Ham United.
Neal Maupay has re-opened his account for Brentford as he scored his first Premier League goal in 14 months.
In recent weeks, Thomas Frank has opted to play a front three with the Frenchman through the middle.
This tactical change has seen their form turn and after three wins from three games, the Bees are looking up the table.
With their loanee striker also looking like he is hitting his stride in recent weeks, it is looking good in West London.
What has Neal Maupay said?
With the Frenchman having a slow end to his Brighton career and a poor time with Everton, it has been a tough time.
With that being said, after his goal against the Hammers, the relief was clear for everyone to see.
Speaking with Liverpool Echo, Maupay has admitted that his celebration was hard: “I didn’t know what to do, it has been a long time… I didn’t know how to react.”

Ironically, his last goal was his first for Everton and was West Ham and it didn’t look like he knew how to react then either.
On getting his goal, Maupay added: “It was good to get back on the scoresheet. It was my first goal in a while. My family was in the stands.
“It means a lot, I love the fans here, I love the club, I love my teammates, I love everyone here and with it being in front of the fans and my family it just meant a lot.”
He also admitted that his time with the Bees is making him love his football again, which is great to hear.
On that, he said: “It [last season] was really hard for me so it is just a relief. I just want to get my happiness back, my joy back, and that is what I am getting.”
Hopefully for himself and the club, he can continue on this form and refind his form of Brentford in the Championship.
