Brentford played host to West Ham United this weekend and secured a great result. Coming back from behind to win 3-2 was very impressive. Let’s take a look at the player ratings…

It was a topsy-turvy game for Brentford as they led before having to come back from behind to secure three points.

It is safe to say that Thomas Frank will be happy with the three points and the number of chances his side created.

The Bees took the lead early on as Neal Maupay broke his duck and scored his first goal in 14 months. Frank Onyeka’s scuffed effort was headed home from close range by the Frenchman.

West Ham scored two quickfire goals to take the lead in the first half. First a wondergoal from Mohammed Kudus and next a scrappy Jarrod Bowen goal.

The second half belonged to the hosts as they were able to first level the scores through a Konstantinos Mavropanos own goal.

They grabbed the lead with 20 minutes to go as Nathan Collins powered home a header from a perfect Mathias Jensen cross.

This was how the score stayed as a third straight Premier League win was secured.

Brentford player ratings

Mark Flekken- 6/10

It was a quiet afternoon for the Dutchman in spite of the two goals he conceded. Coming off at halftime has scuppered his chance of a higher score on the player ratings.

Kristoffer Ajer- 6/10

Another player who didn’t do much wrong on the day but is also not very deserving of a higher score. Solid defensively but did struggle at times given the standard of West Ham’s attack.

Nathan Collins 8/10

Scored one and forced their own goal. For a centre-back, his attacking output has got him a very good score on the player ratings. The two goals scored by the Hammers were pretty hard to stop and on the whole, Collins had a great game.

Ethan Pinnock- 7/10

Again, Pinnock didn’t do anything wrong but if you concede two, it’s hard to give a higher rating. With that being said he was solid and managed to shut the Hammers out in the second half.

Christian Norgaard- 7/10

Another solid performance from Brentford’s Mr consistent. Seven recoveries and 60% of duels won were vital in keeping West Ham at bay, especially in the second half.

Mathias Jensen- 8/10

The Dane’s assist alone is well worth a great score in these player ratings. A picture-perfect whipped cross allowed Collins to score the all-important goal to secure three points. Great going forward on the day and one of the best on the pitch.

Frank Onyeka- 7/10

In another solid midfield performance against the Hammers, Onyeka put himself about and contributed to a good win. Although his assist was a huge slice of luck, they all count and nobody associated with the Bees will care.

Yoane Wissa- 6/10

It was a quiet day by the Congolese’s standards, both his shots were blocked and stopped any chance of him scoring. Just 0.02 expected assists suggest he didn’t create either, not great but far from bad, worth his score on the player ratings.

Neal Maupay- 8/10

A goal for Maupay finally. 14 months after his last goal and you could see the relief on his face as he slid away to celebrate. In recent weeks he has been as important as anyone in securing wins and is well deserving of his player ratings score.

Bryan Mbeumo- 7/10

How Mbeumo didn’t score is beyond everyone. Although only one of his chances was clear cut, he had some great efforts on goal. Curling efforts left Alphonse Areola with no chance but just beat the post. Unlucky not to score but worth a good score.

Substitutes

Thomas Strakosha- 6/10

Mads Roerslev- 6/10

Yegor Yarmolyuk- 5/10

Saman Ghoddos- 5/10

Ben Mee- 5/10
