Brentford have reportedly set a price tag for Ivan Toney as they look to fend off any interest from rival Premier League teams.

Despite being absent from the Brentford side all season, many teams are still circling around their talisman.

With that being said, Thomas Frank is determined to ward off any clubs coming in for him as a price tag is set.

Following Toney’s eight-month ban, the Bees had to acclimatise to life without their star and it has been a bumpy ride.

According to TalkSport, Frank and Co are set to demand at least £80 million, if not more, for the England international.

This fee is set as the club looks to put any potential suitors off in January and looks forward to the summer transfer window.

The 27-year old scored 20 Premier League goals last season and in a world with a lack of great strikers, he is a wanted man.

Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea are all heavily interested and can offer a higher level of football.

Contract situation

There is one issue which may scupper the Bees’ efforts to keep their man, and that is his current contract.

Brentford are looking to keep the Englishman over winter and make it to the end of the season, where they may listen to offers.

This is where the issue comes as Toney will be out of contract in the following summer transfer window. As a result, he will become available on a free.

It must be said that with all the help and support that the club have offered, the forward may sign a new deal.

Like David Raya, who signed a new deal before joining Arsenal, Toney may allow for a new deal to benefit Brentford financially.
