England and Chelsea star, Levi Colwill, has said that Brentford’s Ivan Toney was one of the toughest opponents he faced last season.
Colwill played his first season in the Premier League last time out with Brighton and Hove Albion, before starting for Chelsea this year.
Last season Toney made 33 appearances in the league and scored 20, also assisting four.
He missed several games at the end of the season due to his ban and won’t return until January.
In spite of this, this hasn’t stopped the rumour mill circulating around the striker with links to plenty of top clubs.
Chelsea are one of the clubs linked with £80 million plus needed to tempt Brentford’s resolve.
What has Levi Colwill said about Ivan Toney?
The centre back is on England international duty and has been speaking to the press.
The 20-year old is a new found star and after his first season at the top level he has plenty of rave reviews from all corners.
When asked about a tough challenge he said: “Yeah, I think Ivan Toney last season.
“I was playing decent football last season and I came up against him.”

Toney has scored 32 goals in the Premier League since making his debut in 2021.
Elaborating on the striker, Colwill said: “It was a lot different and I had to learn from it quickly.”
“I had to give myself a little chat and say, ‘You’ve got something to prove now.”
If anything this has allowed the centre back to improve moving forward, but when Toney is back from his ban, it will make for a great battle.
