Stan Collymore believes that Liverpool should look at Brentford star Bryan Mbuemo, should Mohamed Salah leave the club.
The Egyptian winger has been heavily linked to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
Salah is rumoured to have a £1.5 million offer on the table to switch the Premier League for the Middle East.
Jurgen Klopp has categorically denied any links between his star man and Saudi Arabia saying: “We don’t have an offer. Mo Salah is a Liverpool player.
“If there would be something, the answer would be no.”
Rumours of the winger leaving have come at the same time Ivan Toney has admitted his love for Liverpool.
As a result, links have sprung between the Bees striker and the Reds.
In spite of this, former Liverpool man Collymore believes there is a different Brentford player they should be going for.
What has Stan Collymore said?
Originally he was discussing links between his former side and Toney.
Despite this, it was Mbuemo who was on his mind: “Interestingly, it’s actually one of Toney’s Brentford teammates that I think top sides should be taking a closer look at Bryan Mbuemo. I love him!”
What Collymore said next came as a surprise. He named the Cameroonian as his favourite player in the league.
“Mbeumo is my favourite player in the Premier League. I think he’s quality. Whenever I watch him, he gets the ball close to his feet, he’s very direct.
“He gets in the box and poaches goals, he’s physically strong. I could go on and on. He’s a great player!”

Very high praise from a man who scored 62 goals in the Premier League.
As a result of all these positive traits, Collymore thinks he could be perfect at Anfield: “If Salah does end up leaving Liverpool this summer then I certainly think Jurgen Klopp should consider Brentford’s number 19.”
From a Brentford point of view, Mbuemo has stepped up this season and has been in top form. If the Bees lose him it could be of detrimental effect to their season.
