The left back is both adept at going forward and defending in the high intensity setup of Brentford.

Nevin sees Hickey’s future elsewhere, securing a huge fee for the defender: “Hickey is a good player, and he is someone who will be good enough for a top 4 club.”

Despite his optimism for the future, Thomas Frank is focusing on the here and now.

“There needs to be a little bit more to get into the City team in terms of performances. I think he can get up there.”

He is a highly rated talent both in and outside of Brentford, who knows where he could end up in the future.
