Brentford have been linked to signing Leeds United’s winger Luis Sinisterra following their relegation to the Championship.

The Bees have been linked to forwards all window long and Sinisterra is the latest name on that list.

Sinisterra has played two games so far this season with rumours circulating that he doesn’t want to play in the Championship.

There are also reports that he is suffering with an ankle injury. Take everything with a pinch of salt.

A fee could be agreed with the Lilywhites wanting the deal done if the Colombian won’t play.

Who is Luis Sinisterra?

The winger made his name in the Netherlands with Feyenoord.

He signed for £2 million, in a transfer from Colombian side Once Caladas.

He scored his first goal for the club in August 2019 and six months later had found his feet, being named Eredivisie young player of the month for January.

In late 2020, his contract was extended following top form for his club.

In his final season in Holland he scored 23 and assisted 14, a crazy record for a winger.

This prompted Leeds into making a £25 million bid for the winger.

An injury cropped campaign in England saw him only make 22 appearances.

He did impress in that period, scoring seven and assisting one.

What will Luis Sinisterra bring to Brentford?

He is a top class winger, who definitely shouldn’t be playing in the Championship.

It is a surprise that he hasn’t been poached yet.

His injury issues are a worry, missing over half of last season as a result.

But when he is playing, he is a goal scorer, creator and constant threat.

He is particularly strong at dribbling, shooting and surprisingly for a winger, aerial duels.

Being able to score goals from the wing is a great commodity which can be invaluable, especially if your striker is also scoring.

He isn’t the most polished passer of the ball but has shown assists come naturally to him.

Crossing isn’t a main characteristic of Thomas Frank’s side, so this wouldn’t make too much away from his ability.

In today’s market, a winger who can score and assist and provides a constant threat, for the region of £20 million could be great business.

Top player for a good price could be a difference maker for the Bees.
