Brentford are holding talks with Genk winger Mike Tresor over a potential move. A fee would be in the region of £15 million.
The bees are looking to strengthen their squad as deadline day looms, especially in an attacking capacity.
As an wide or central attacking midfielder, he would add a different element to Thomas Frank’s side.
Who is Mike Tresor?
A youth product of Anderlecht, he spent his early professional career in the Netherlands with NEC and Willem II.
After 54 appearances, scoring nine, at Willem, Genk brought him to Belgium for £3 million.
A slow start to his time in the Pro League, he didn’t register a goal in his first season.
But last season, his form was extraordinary.

Eight goals from midfield is nothing to look over, but his assist number is truly amazing.
24 assists in 42 appearances from the wing or number ten, a top class season for the Belgian.
This form saw him called up for the preliminary Belgium squad for the 2022 World Cup. Despite not making the plane, it still pays testament to the season he had.
He made his debut for the national team in June 2023 in Euro 2024 qualifying.
What would Mike Tresor add to Brentford?
He is an assist king that is for certain.
His key skills revolve around creating chances for his teammates.
The Belgian has a top tier crossing ability and with the height of Kevin Schade up top, goals could be a plenty.
Tresor is very good at set pieces with both crosses and shooting opportunities to create plenty of chances.
One aspect of his game that would have to improve under Frank at Brentford would be his defensive contribution.
The Bees’ style relies on everybody chipping in and getting stuck in defensively.
No matter what Tresor contributes going forward, he needs to match that with better defensive output.
It can take time for new signings to get used to style of play, Frank made this clear against Tottenham.
Tresor would be a top signing, especially for the fee he is likely to cost.
If they can get him firing on all cylinders, he would be a unique weapon for the Bees to deploy.
