Brentford have been rumoured to want Tammy Abraham with the Englishman allegedly wanting out of Roma this summer.

With Brentford potentially losing star striker Ivan Toney in January or the summer, the Bees are in the market for a striker.

In saying that, it is likely that Thomas Frank will be after a striker whose profile is similar to their current number 17.

Abraham could be that guy for the Bees. With Jose Mourinho potentially departing, Abraham may follow suit.

According to TEAMtalk, there is a chance he could depart the Stadio Olympico.

Who is Tammy Abraham?

Abraham is a well-known striker from his time in England. He had great spells with Bristol City, Aston Villa and Chelsea in years gone by.

He came through the Blues’ academy and as all Cobham youngsters were, he was loaned out many times.

His time with the Villains under former Brentford manager Dean Smith was probably his most fruitful spell away.

The Englishman scored 26 goals in 40 games as promotion back to the Premier League was secured.

Following that spell, he became a mainstay of the Chelsea side under Frank Lampard.

He then became a valued squad member under Thomas Tuchel as a historic Champions League title was secured in Porto.

Since then he has gone on to be a great player for Roma under Jose Mourinho. Being ‘a monster‘ was the goal for the two in the Italian capital.

What would he add to Brentford?

This signing is only likely to go through if Toney departs the GTECH Community Stadium.

The England international will provide a physical point at the top of the pitch for Frank’s side. Something which has been sorely missed in recent months.

He is quick and provides a threat in more than just a physical aspect.

With his signing, it has to be considered that he is returning from a long-term injury lay-off. He will take time to come back up to speed.

In saying that, he could be the perfect replacement for Toney given his experience and quality. He provides a guarantee of goals.
