Brentford are set to make a bid for Celtic star, Matt O’Riley following his excellent performances so far this season.
It appears that Brentford are in the market to sign a midfielder in January as they look to push on in the Premier League.
Under Thomas Frank’s management, there has been a Danish influx and it looks set to continue.
According to TEAMtalk, this is set to continue with the Denmark Under 21s star being the latest to be linked to the Bees.
With that being said, the midfielder in question is one of, if not the best player in the SPFL right now.

There are rumours that suggest he could cost upwards of £20 million which could be contested by multiple other teams.
Who is Matt O’Riley?
The midfielder has been highly rated this season and that culminated in winning September Player of the Month.
He started his career with Fulham but after just one appearance in three years in London, he made a move.
The Denmark youth international moved to MK Dons and across 49 appearances he scored ten goals.
In the 2021/22 season, he impressed, winning EFL Player of the Month in November of that season.
A £1.5 million move was secured to Celtic in January 2022 and he has gone on to shine in paradise.
This season has seen his manager, Brendan Rodgers, refer to him as a ‘wonderful footballer‘ due to the level he is playing at.
Should Brentford sign him?
At the moment, the Bees are hampered by injuries in the midfield area, so a new signing could be useful.
With Josh Dasilva, Shandon Baptiste and Mikkel Damsgaard all on the sidelines, youngsters like Yegor Yarmolyuk have played.
O’Riley could fit well into Frank’s system. The midfielder’s strengths revolve around getting on the ball and making things happen.
From great passing to distance shooting and even set pieces, he has all that you could want for a midfielder.
The fee is a sticking point but if that hurdle can be gotten over then this deal could be great.
A midfielder who wouldn’t be guaranteed a start, to begin with, but could quite easily become a star player in no time.
As signings go, this is one of the more exciting prospects right now.
