Following the signing of Neal Maupay, transfer window closed and Brentford manager Thomas Frank is happy with his sides business.
This summer saw the Bees bring in Mark Flekken and Nathan Collins, while making Kevin Schade’s loan move permanent.
The shock move of the window saw Maupay resign at the GTEC Community Stadium, years after leaving for Brighton and Hove Albion.
Following his move away, the Frenchman has scored 28 goals across 141 games for two clubs, drawing plenty of criticism.
Brentford is where he found his best form, being involved in 65 goals in 95 games, in the Championship.
Following a loan return, hopefully he re-finds his form.
What has Thomas Frank said?
It is clear to see that the Danish manager is happy to get Maupay back.
When asked about his signing, he said: “It’s fantastic to have Neal back. He’s a great character, a strong personality, a player that pushes every training and game and badly wants to win.
It can be said that he isn’t the same player that left the Bees in 2019.

This isn’t a worry for Frank: “He’s also matured. He lost his way a little bit, but there are always reasons for that. I am sure that together I can get the best out of Neal.”
Overall, the Dane was happy with his signings: “I think we had a very good window. We replaced a very good goalkeeper with another.
“We got a very good centre-back in that we think has a very big potential in Nathan.”
As well as the transfer window, the news that Ivan Toney is returning to training has been well reported.
On the England international, Frank said: “It’s very good to have him back. He’s a very good player, but more importantly person to have around the group.
“We would prefer to have him in the team but that’s not possible.”
With Maupay, Collins, Flekken and add in Toney returning, there is reason for optimism for Brentford fans.
