David Raya has admitted that he wants to play in La Liga in the future despite only joining Arsenal on loan this summer from Brentford.
Raya had been linked with moves away from the Bees all summer and eventually signed a new deal and was loaned to the Gunners.
The Spaniard has been with Brentford since 2019 and went from strength to strength in his time with the club.
He won a Young Player and a Player of the Year award with the Bees as he helped secure promotion to the Premier League.
Due to his contract situation, it felt like Raya would leave this summer and he eventually did, but not before signing a contract.
Now he has dislodged Aaron Ramsdale at the Emirates to become number one.

David Raya homecoming
He has been in England since joining Blackburn Rovers in 2012 and is now with his fourth club since.
As a result of this, returning back to Spain may be on the agenda for the Gunners’ shot-stopper.
Discussing his future ambitions he said: “Would I like to play in La Liga in the future? Yes, of course, but at the moment I am at Arsenal. We will see what happens in the next few years.”
Given his ambition to return to his home country, it may come as a worry to Arsenal and Brentford fans.
Bees don’t need to worry
With Mark Flekken, Thomas Frank’s side has found a more than adequate replacement for the Spaniard, so aren’t desperate for his return.
Although he signed a new contract, it is unlikely that he won’t end up staying at Arsenal on a permanent basis.
With Ramsdale being ostracised recently, it may be an issue for Arteta’s side if Raya wants to realise his La Liga dream.
