Brentford manager, Thomas Frank has confirmed that Mikkel Damsgaard has seen a knee specialist as he recovers from injury.

The Dane is just one of many players currently on the injury list for the Bees.

Rico Henry suffered a potentially season-ending injury away at Newcastle United. Kevin Schade will be out for several months after pulling up in the warm-up before Everton.

Ben Mee, Shandon Baptiste and Josh Dasilva are currently out of contention due to their own issues.

With Ivan Toney suspended also, Frank’s squad is being pulled pretty thin right now.

What has Thomas Frank said about Mikkel Damsgaard?

Damsgaard has been out for several weeks, missing since the 3-0 win over Fulham.

With Schade now injured too, the winger options at the GTECH Community Stadium are now annoyingly low for Frank.

Discussing the Danishman’s injury, he said: “He saw a knee specialist and had a minor operation this week.

“Everything looked good in terms of the bigger parts that we could be worried about and that’s positive.”

There is clearly plenty of recovery that comes with this kind of injury, but the manager is remaining upbeat where he can.

Continuing on to say: “They cleaned the knee and hopefully, that’s the bit that will help him.

“We hope he will be back soon, but there is no timeframe. We will see how things settle down and then we will see how close he is.”

With the current state of the squad, hopefully, he will be back soon to add some much-needed depth to the Bees’ squad.
