Former Everton defender, Michael Ball, believes that their games against Brentford and Arsenal should see them secure six points.

Ball started his career with the Merseysiders in 1996 and went onto make 121 appearances over five years for the Toffees.

Throughout his career he played for Rangers, PSV, Manchester City and Leicester City, playing 114 games over 11 years away from Goodison.

His former side travel to the GTEC Community stadium in a weeks time, coming off the back of three losses and a draw.

The Bees are undefeated so far this season, drawing three and winning once.

With Arsenal also starting the season in great form, it is a strange call to suggest Everton should get six points from six.

What has Michael Ball said about Brentford?

Sean Dyche’s side have looked very bellow par so far this season, only scoring two goals so far this season.

Ironically, they sit in tenth in the xG table, scoring 5.95 goals less than expected.

With the introduction of Beto, Jack Harrison, Arnaut Danjuma and Youssef Chermiti, the goals will come for the Toffees.

By comparison, Brentford are sitting in third in terms of xG.

When discussing the upcoming fixtures, Ball said: “A positive return from the next two fixtures against Arsenal and Brentford, I just want to win every game. Your target is to win every game.”

Although this doesn’t appear realistic, he justified his opinion: “They might have an off day, we might have a good day.

“It’s been against us far too many times but as a starting point, you’ve got to have that willingness and confidence to receive the ball.”

He thinks that at some point it has to click for the Toffees and that Brentford and Arsenal can’t keep up their form.

When likening himself to Dyche: “If I was the manager or a player, I’d want six points. That’s what I’d be going for, that’s why you play football at a top level.

“You don’t go onto the football field to hope for a draw.”

Thomas Frank’s side have been in top form and will be hopeful of securing a win, that is for sure.
